Garlic Bacon Wrapped Asparagus (Printable)

Tender asparagus bundles wrapped in crispy bacon with garlic. A delicious appetizer or side ready in 30 minutes.

# Ingredient List:

→ Vegetables

01 - 1 lb fresh asparagus spears, woody ends trimmed
02 - 2 cloves garlic, finely minced

→ Meats

03 - 8 slices thin-cut bacon

→ Seasonings & Oils

04 - 1 tbsp olive oil
05 - 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
06 - 1/4 tsp salt

# How to Make:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
02 - Rinse asparagus under cold water. Snap or trim approximately 1 inch from the bottom of each spear to remove tough woody ends.
03 - Combine asparagus, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl. Toss until spears are evenly coated.
04 - Divide seasoned asparagus into 8 equal bundles, approximately 3-4 spears per bundle.
05 - Wrap one slice of bacon around each bundle in a spiral motion from bottom to top. Place bundles seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
06 - Bake for 18-20 minutes until bacon is crispy and asparagus is tender-crisp.
07 - For additional crispiness, switch oven to broil and cook for 1-2 minutes. Watch closely to prevent burning.
08 - Transfer bundles to a serving platter using tongs. Serve immediately while hot.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The combination of crispy salty bacon with tender fresh asparagus creates this perfect bite that feels fancy but takes almost no effort
  • These bundles disappear faster than anything else I serve, and people always ask for the recipe
02 -
  • Dry your asparagus thoroughly after washing or the bacon will steam instead of crisp up
  • Space the bundles at least an inch apart on the baking sheet so air can circulate and the bacon cooks evenly
03 -
  • Use parchment paper not foil because the bacon will stick to foil as it crisps up
  • Let the bundles rest for about 2 minutes after baking so the bacon sets and does not slide off
